Aloe Vera is considered one of the most valuable plants used in folk and herbal medicine. The Egyptians named it the ‘plant of immortality, and the Ayurvedic scripts written in Sanskrit referred to it as Kumari; meaning a virgin, or a young princess. This indicates that it’s a wonderful plant for skin health. Its astringent nature makes it great for healing wounds, cuts, and swelling. Its cooling quality relieves itching, skin irritation, redness, inflammation, and burns, and it is considered a powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, therefore good to be taken internally for healing the lining of the gut, the digestive system, and liver.

The skin absorbs aloe vera up to four times faster than water; it appears to help the pores of the skin open and receive moisture and nutrients from the plant, which helps moisten dry skin and dryness in general. Its cooling and gently hydrating properties make it a wonderful addition to any skin regime.

Aloe vera juice can be taken internally. It aids digestion, helps control blood sugar, increases energy production, promotes cardiovascular health, improves liver function, and boosts the immune system. Take 1-2 teaspoons of aloe juice in the morning on an empty stomach for younger-looking healthy skin, and for balancing digestion and elimination.
